I Do Not Understand Racist People

Telling jokes about Asians eyes or their skin color isn't funny. It seems like it's mostly Caucasian people making jokes about us like how can we read with our eyes. OUR EYES ARE THE SAME SIZE AS YOURS! Our epicanthic fold just makes our eyes smaller.

I can't stand people who make racist jokes and I call them out that they are a racist. However, they respond it was a racist joke, there's a difference.

I actually wonder what is a proper way to say I like "mongoloid" eyes in English. Everything that comes to my mind is considered racist. Even mongoloid.
What is the right expression then?

@SakuraShimeji That's not exactly what I have in mind. I mean eyes that remind us East Asians but are not typically Asian with an epicanthic fold.
Eyes like Keanu Reeves has, for example. He hasn't got epicanthic folds, if I am right (?)

Almond shape, maybe?

@CrazyMusicLover Mongoloid eyes is really an apt description and shouldn't be taken as insulting. Many Asians have eyes like the Mongols.

oid is a suffix meaning “resembling,” “like,” used in the formation of adjectives and nouns (and often implying an incomplete or imperfect resemblance to what is indicated by the preceding element): alkaloid; anthropoid; cardioid; cuboid; lithoid; ovoid; planetoid. Compare -ode1. Origin of -oid. Greek.

@Serenitree The problem with Mongoloid is that this term has been somehow associated with down syndrome in the past.

@CrazyMusicLover I know, and that is simply because someone misunderstood why the word mongoloid was used. Down Syndrome people have almond shaped eyes, much like the Mongols. Thus, mongoloid. Meaning like the Mongols, but not exactly.

The fact is, Negro seems to be a dirty word these days yet Negro (plural Negroes) is a term traditionally used to denote persons considered to be of Negroid heritage, . a member of a dark-skinned group of peoples originally native to Africa south of the Sahara. It has various equivalents in other languages.

I used to think it was the most polite word to use, and no more offensive than Asian or Caucasian. But I've been set straight on that subject.
