I Do Not Understand Racist People

Telling jokes about Asians eyes or their skin color isn't funny. It seems like it's mostly Caucasian people making jokes about us like how can we read with our eyes. OUR EYES ARE THE SAME SIZE AS YOURS! Our epicanthic fold just makes our eyes smaller.

I can't stand people who make racist jokes and I call them out that they are a racist. However, they respond it was a racist joke, there's a difference.

Oooooooh, come on now... Don't act like Asians aren't super racist toward other Asians... If I had a dollar for every time I heard a Japanese person shit-talking Chinese people...

@SakuraShimeji Never said it did. I was just talking about how you said it's mostly Caucasians who do it. Not at all the case. Literally everyone does it. That doesn't make it right, but it's also not right to put that all on one group either, y'know? It's just a human thing. We all hate each other. When that interferes with your life, of course, fight back. Most of the time, though, you gotta laugh it off.

@SakuraShimeji You wouldn't. But most people would. Because it's funny. We're different and that's ok. It's ok to acknowledge our differences. It's ok to joke about them. People will like to use the slippery slope argument that if you tell jokes it leads to actual beliefs, and I'm sure that to some degree that's true, but we can't live in fear of it.

@SakuraShimeji You're talking about repeated bullying. Do I actually give off the impression of a bully? I joke with my friends, usually about my friends, and they joke back. Because we're comfortable with each other and ourselves.
