Just some feelings in my heart:

For so many years of my life I was ashamed.

Specifics matter not. We seem to live in a world, Similar or otherwise where as perverse stereo typing dictates how you must live, dress...act. Simply to be accepted by those whom know not how to accept themselves.

Leaving you misunderstood, undermined and hopeless to simply express the truth about yourself as anyone who dare defy these so called norms becomes the victim of comments and scrutiny.

It is toxic, painful and deeply unfair.

Regardless of where you came from...what you've done to survive...your body shape or your orientation...

The single most important thing you are not...is the ignorant opinions of others.

I post dumb stuff... Seeking to share a smile mostly..

But at the end of the day, I'll hold your hand. I'll try my best to offer you my heart if it will help you find acceptance.

Shame features much less in my own life than it once did. And recrimination. I remember once walking in a London park behind an elderly couple who were holding hands. My first love said "That's how I'd like us to be when we're that age". I've no doubt she was completely sincere even though she married another three years later. I'm still in love with her, or at least with the person she was then, and I think she might say the same. Strange and sad but something didn't quite gel.

I've often liked your "dumb stuff" and could tell there was someone not very dumb behind it all.

I loved reading this post. It took me a long time to learn to love myself, and so I am very glad to read how you have successfully dealt with shame.
