What’s worse is when people say “ racism is learned we’re not born racist”

Like no shit pretty much everything is learned

You don’t think that’s the truth ? It indicates that if left to their own devices, children see differences but don’t necessarily interpret them as bad unless they’ve picked up cues by others.

@bijouxbroussard yes I do agree what I’m saying is it’s obvious
@Mickwnes Not obvious to everyone. There are people who believe racism is a form of tribalism, and innate.

@bijouxbroussard tribalism is socialised too Bijoux. I don't know who you read, but most people that write about tribes, don't see the tribe itself as a "natural" occurance. But there is an instinctive part in humanity that makes us loose ourselves in tribalist behavior. That's the "natural" part, not the definition of the tribe itself.
@Kwek00 One of the accepted definitions of “tribalism” (not the only one) is:
the behavior and attitudes that stem from strong loyalty to one's own tribe or social group.

I said some people “believe racism is a form of tribalism”.

@bijouxbroussard I wonder who "some people" are in this case bijoux. I have some authors that believe that idea, but they aren't really mainstream.

And yes, your little snippet is workable here. It doesn't back up your idea tough. To be loyal to ones tribe or social group, if that social group or tribe is defined by race, then racism becomes an aspect of the culture and social rules that tribe/social group expresses. The word I have a problem with is cut off from your part, namely "innate" (as in a "natural" part). I don't think you want to be at the table of annyone adding the "innate" part.

@SW-User You don't have too... That video has some good sources, you shouldn't have deleted it.
@Kwek00 What I recognize that others believe to be so (ordinary, everyday people, even posters on this site, no one published) is not what I’m saying I personally believe. I agree with was discussed in the beginning:
...if left to their own devices, children see differences but don’t necessarily interpret them as bad unless they’ve picked up cues by others.
The OP believes this idea is obvious. Unfortunately, it is not obvious to everyone.

@bijouxbroussard I agreed with that part... just not the innate stuff linked to tribalism.
@Kwek00 I don’t agree with that, either. But I know that some people think that, and that was my only point.

@bijouxbroussard Okay, that was it.
