What do you do when you finally realize the person you loved with all your heart and soul never really loved you?

When it happened to me, I took a look at myself, and determined that there was work and growth that I needed to go through. I found an excellent therapist, who helped steer me on a journey of self-discovery that has led me to many rewards. Chief among them was the discovery and development of deep, new, secure, authentic love for a new partner, and perhaps more importantly, a deeper level of self-understanding and acceptance.

I realized that for a long time, I had been looking for my place of sanctuary in my romantic relationships, but that I couldn’t really find it there until I found it within myself.

Personal growth is often painful at times. I hope your journey eases and that you find joy, fulfillment, and magnificence.

Mine went without support. It destroyed my very core of myself, I was no longer able to move forward as anger and doubt clouded myself from seeing what was important. Being trapped within a limbo of nobody will ever love me or why do I give and give but never enough.

Those were the dark days and now I'm still not at peace. It irks me every now and then. It something I've accepted but at the cost of never being able to feel right

I’m sorry. I also feel that way at times but I’m hoping things won’t be like this forever @Disposal

@Edelgard It won't. Eventually we find new ways to forget the past
