Is it wrong to settle for someone?

Ksmile14 · F
Same answer I gave on a different question 30 minutes ago...

I think...

We've been taught not to settle. Go for your dreams. Know what you want and go for it!

But what if that person isn't even out there? If we have 15 things we want in a partner, are we gonna wait until we find someone with all 15--WHO ALSO WANTS US?

Or are we willing to go with someone who has 12 of those points? Or is it 11? What if they have your Top 10 and are close on two of the bottom 5 things?

Where is the line drawn where you've made a good choice (but not perfect) and where you've settled?

It's a hard question cuz we like to think that whoever we choose is forever, and if we shoot too high we may never find anyone and if we shoot too low, we won't have the kind of partner we really want. :(

I don't know, but if you keep shooting for the moon, you'll eventually be out of bullets

@TinyViolins i agree

if you are unsatisfied then yes

I wouldn’t say it’s ‘wrong’ but you have the potential to be happier if you don’t settle. You’re not really being fair to yourself or the person you’re settling for when you choose to do that.

but some times in life we have to settle, otherwise its chasing a fantasy @WanderingThrough

What does your heart feel about this person?
SunshineBlues · 22-25, F

@SunshineBlues good luck. Might take awhile...
Yes because if you find someone objectively “better”, it opens doors for cheating.

Luckily I never had to contemplate doing that
