@HootyTheNightOwl I also believe that certain classes should be replaced with something that is a bit more practical. I never understood why we had to take all these complicated math and science classes in high school when most of us will never use any of that shit. I always thought classes like chemistry or physics should be reserved for college when taking those courses are essential to a student's major.I never saw much value in them as high school courses. A course in personal finance would have been much more invaluable to high school students, especially since it's something practical that everybody will be able to make use of no matter what they choose to go on to study. Having taken a course in human sexuality, I also think that would have been invaluable as a high school course since the teachings of a human sexuality course is also something that everybody can apply to their lives. So that's one of my criticisms regarding compulsory education. I would have preferred to spend less time studying material I will never use and more time engaging with courses that are a little more practical and vital to everyday life. And of course, bullying is a huge issue as well and while most schools do have a "zero-tolerance policy" for bullying, you wouldn't know it by the way they often mishandle bullying cases or complaints from parents.

@Ryannnnnn Ah. I started a few years ago, but haven't been a full-time student until recently. I think it's easier to appreciate the value of a good education once you are older, especially when you start to see the kind of jobs that are available for those who only got a high school diploma or a GED. $2000 a month seemed like a decent amount of money when I was 15 and had no concept of how much the basic necessities of life actually costs.
