Traditional execution (hanging, firing squad, electrocution, etc.) would certainly be less expensive than lethal injection... 🤔
In 2011, the average cost of a drug used in lethal injections was just $83.55 per dose. By 2013, authorities in Texas paid $1,500; in Missouri they paid $8,000; and in 2017, Virginia agreed to pay $16,500 per dose. The reason? European chemical suppliers, who were the main source of the drugs, had left the business, restricting supply.

ikr? It's pretty pathetic that the inmate who spent the most time on death row (40 years) actually died of natural causes before he could be executed.
