I Think That If Women Should Shave, So Should Men

I have always thought this! It's only been in the last 15 or 20 years that it has become normal for females to remove all their hair down there without being called weird, but men still have a long way to go before they achieve the same equality.

Personally I find regardless of gender the obsession with removing body hair by definition irrational, silly and more then a little creepy.

So, you're saying that men who don't grow beards are "irrational, silly and more than a little creepy"?
@Glossy: There is a big difference between the two. For one shaving my beard does not negatively affect my hygiene and increase the risk of infection. Shaving other body hair does. For example with women shaving their pubic hair increases risk of infection...unless you disinfect your panties.
@Glossy: Also it helps evaporate sweat and other moisture faster and more efficiently which reduces BO substantially and also reduces risk of rashes or even worse fungal infections like jock itch caused by moisture. A beard does have it's functions too but is far less important and does not change much unless you live somewhere with sub zero temperatures this time of year.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow: There's no scientific basis for any risk of infection. In fact, it's quite the opposite. People who shave tend to have a higher level of personal hygiene than those who don't. And, if you shave off all your pubes, you will never get pubic lice (but I suppose you can let it grow and then disinfect your panties!)
@Glossy: Actually there is and what you are saying is based on old wives tales. You think you have hair down there to have something to practice shaving on? Everything I said is backed by science and medical fact. And the risk of pubic lice is very small and at worst is a serious irritation but not serious whereas infections can be very serious.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow: So, are you saying we should not use razors to shave, in case we cut ourselves and "get an infection"? I've been shaving down there all my life and I've never cut myself or got an infection. And I don't know anyone who ever has. And how would your "get an infection" argument hold up if we all used hair removal cream instead of razors? You really haven't thought this through, have you?
@Glossy: It has nothing to do with getting cut. There is nothing to think through. This is why that hair exists in the first place. Like I said it is not for practice with your razor. Think it through a bit further. Your genitals are basically an opening to the outside world and hair exists there in part to keep things that cause infection away from those openings. The same reason why a man has a forskin and why circumcision is idiotic from a hygiene point of view. Also it helps evaporate sweat and other moisture which also breeds bacteria if it stays wet. It is also what causes unpleasant odour.
Glossy · F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow: I agree with you. The unpleasant odour is caused by moisture trapped by the hairs. That's why the absence of hair means there is no unpleasant odour. Trust me on this, I am speaking from experience.
@Glossy: You have that completely backwards. Hair makes sweat and moisture evaporate faster. That is one reason why it exists there in the first place.
Glossy · F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow: That's why beards and underarm hair exist, too. Yet, you're ok with removing that. I don't follow your logic.
@Glossy: And you are going back to something that does not matter and something I already explained the first time around. You are circling right back to your first argument to completely avoid addressing my logic.
Glossy · F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow: of course it matters. Your logic is based on a confliction.
@Glossy: It does not matter because I already addressed all of those things and your argument consist at this point of repeating the same points over and over on a loop even though they have all been addressed and countered.
Glossy · F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow: Countered? I don't think so. Go ahead and believe whatever you want, it doesn't make you right. But now, I think I have an idea of the game you're playing and I won't be reacting to any more of your replies.
Me playing games? Yes countered. That is what I have been doing all this time. And you are the one playing games by simply repeating the same things over and over and completely ignoring any view but your own.
