I Will Take As Many Words As I Want To Write This Story

Her Scent Remembered, Her Presence Desired

( I must preface this by saying a number of you may have already read this here:

https://similarworlds.com/3724831-I-Challenge-You-to-Challenge-Me-to-Write/2458088-WRITERS-WEEKLY-CHALLENGE-WEEK-OF-JANUARY-24-2019?page=3&sort=1

This was the latest writing challenge issued by @fungirlmmmm and it was one that was very well received. There were so many excellent entries to this challenge. My reply below is but one of those entries. Now as to whether it was ALSO excellent is a matter for debate...lol

However, since I wrote this on Thursday morning it has grown on me and I wanted to share it where I generally post (on a board created BY ME!) for those that may bot have read it in her post.

Those of you who have read need not comment again.Your words of support were heard on the original post.

Just walk on by....wait on the corner.

I would breathe her in.
Allowing myself to get lost
In her being and essence.

I'd inhale and memorize
her scents as we cuddled in a
twisted mass of mutual arousal.

She had the scent of lavender.
Of vanilla. A perfume that
mirrored mine, floral yet elegant.

I recall sitting with her in much
younger days. The light of stars
paled in comparison to her eyes.

We were young, the world infinite.
With each day a new possibility.
We were as one together.

Ah! How time cruelly passes.
What was love becomes lost
As the infinite becomes finite.

The memorized scents of
One so loved, so revered
Remain. Awakening old passions.

And yet....
A new day dawns.....
Hope springs eternal...

Solemn and beautiful. It's made really easy to follow the complex emotions seen in this piece.
This is absolutely bitter-sweet with a hopeful twist. A real heart warmer and reminder that life is full of change but also that time heals all wounds.

A big congrats to you for such a wonderful piece and also a huge thank you for sharing it.
@SW-User Well..you do know how to get one to blush!

Thank You for the complements and your evaluation of how you saw it. That was quite a good assessment! Scents memorized are something that never really leave us. It just takes the right person to reawaken those passions and desires. I want ther to be hope-a chance for a rekindling of love.

Please check out the link I gave. As I prefaced there were many who replied and some were very creative. This was a dun assignment-even the end to my post surprised me!
