Chimes ring silently
in a house long vacant.
Long void of love and affection
and laughter.

Chimes ring
In the mind of the walls.
Not really a ring. Notating time; or hours past
But a sad, sorrowful mourn.

A dirge for lost days gone by.
Never to return.

@PhoenixPhail Thank You. I loved writing this piece. It almost wrote itself as it feels like my house. Where there were once voices of 4 there is now just me.

That is a Micheal Otto pic called "Lonely House". I did some research on this and it was abandoned 40 years plus before this pic was taken.

Silently it sits in it current state remembering the love, affection, warmth, laughter (and tears) that once filled it.

Never to return.
