Chimes--------------------

Chimes ring silently
in a house long vacant.
Long void of love and affection
and laughter.

Chimes ring
In the mind of the walls.
Not really a ring. Notating time; or hours past
But a sad, sorrowful mourn.

A dirge for lost days gone by.
Never to return.

@SW-User I sometimes think of that when I see a old house like that. All the love and laughter it once shared. The children, screaming with delight on Birthdays and Christmas. The look of unbelief on their faces. The love all shared and times of bonding. The endless yells of 'Mommy" or Daddy" that rang through the halls. kinda sad.
