I Am Scottish

I Am Very Scottish... On my mother's side, I am descended from pure scottish blood.  We claim the MacKay clan, but we are also linked to the Grants (including Ullysses Grant, distantly) and Walkers.  My legacy goes back to Pictou Nova Scotia and then to Edinborough and Glasgow and a couple of small villages in the countryside.  I love bagpipe music!  Scotland the Brave is my favorite.  The Mackay clan motto is Manu Forti, and the Walker motto is Et Curia Industria.  The Grant motto is Stand Fast Craig Elachie, but I have never seen a latin version.  There are are Steele's and Ewings in my family tree but those are not a clan proper.  I have various samples of my clan tartans, and look forward to getting more.  All the tartans I have acquired come from Scotland and are hand-woven.  Someday, I hope to travel to Scotland and see what my families history is all about.  I am told it is beautiful country.
