Of all the conversations that people have started with me, 95% of the ones that start with just "hi" or "hello" end up going nowhere. Like, they'll initiate the conversation and then either ignore it when I respond, or want me to come up with a topic.

@PerchingDove Right, that too. At least the perverts get to the point pretty quick so it's not such a slog of a conversation. I only have so much time in a day, so not every conversation is worth keeping alive.
