I've not only had my fair share of bad days, but also bad weeks, bad months and even bad years.

Before I begin, I'd like to preface that I'm sure, everyone a mix of good and bad times.

Now, the 34 years of my existence thus far, on the whole have had their fair share of ups and downs.

Some days are entirely good, some are entirely bad, some start off good but go completely bad and some start off bad, but then get progressively better.

When I was 11, a good friend of mine, (who was not just a friend, but a classmate as well) told me he was moving away and that really upset me and I would do just about anything (within reason) to cope with his absence from my life.

For about two years, we kept in contact by phone, but that was about it.

After those two years had elapsed, I felt as though I had moved on and put it behind me.

However, the trials and tribulations I faced in High School were an emotional roller coaster.

My Freshman year felt like a breath of fresh air and naturally so.

It was a chance to wipe the slate clean and start anew.

My Sophomore year, in a manner of speaking, got off to a good start, had a bad middle, but had an okay kind of end.

My Junior year wasn't the best, but not the worst, either, I mean, that there were some high points and some low points, but on the whole, okay.

But my Senior year... In the fewest words, can only be summed up by quoting Marlon Brando's famous line in the 1979 film, Apocalypse Now. "😱The horror... The horror!"

That was my proverbial descent into Hell.

It was so bad, I almost committed suicide, that year and I mean ALMOST, because I wouldn't be here posting right now, if I did.

Well, Just like a lot of things, even that would pass.

I returned to High School as a senior for three more years, until the day I graduated with honors.

My 5th year in High School as a returning senior, was a banner year for me, as I considered it to be my best year of all, even if it did get off to a bit of a rocky start.

That was the year, I felt was my personal best.

The high point of that year, was finally getting into the classes I wanted to get into.

My 6th year in High School as a returning senior was a mixed bag, so to speak, in that some days of that year were better than others.

And my 7th year of High School... That was also a mixed up year and knowing it was my last, didn't make it any easier for me.

The next 13 years that would pass after my graduation were a whole 'nother saga in the story of my life, fraught with so many good, bad and in-between days.

But that is another story for another time.

Sorry if I'm omitting a lot of details, but I only wanted to offer the gist of it.
