@DeluxedEdition Bundy had a sexual sadism distorter and it is difficult to understand exactly how they originate. No doubt he fed off the violent porn but something else got him started before that. Before he ever watched violent you had things like his aunt reported, she said one time she woke up to find her toddler nephew placing knives near her sleeping form. He was a socially awkward child who sometimes crossed the lines of propriety, morality and legality. Some of the things he did you only in very seriously traumatized children who have either themselves been the victims of extraordinary abuse or who have witnessed extreme violence among family members. It was never proven but there was some evidence that he killed his first woman when he was only 14.
No specific causes have been identified to cause sexual sadism disorder, there are several theories. One includes escapism, or a feeling of power for someone who normally feels powerless in day-to-day life; release of suppressed sexual fantasies; or progressive acting out of sadistic sexual fantasies over time.
Fortunately a lot of paraphilic fetishes are often just something terribly embarrassing instead of harmful to someone. I can't imagine how bad it would be to be afflicted to one of the bad ones.

@Subsumedpat I know more about the sexual fetish connections because of my experiences than about people like bundy but when you read about one you learn about the other. I think it is a fascinating subject.

@WalterF I forgot many things, the object list on which a person can have an obcessive fixation on it endless. In researching I read of a case where a guy had a fetish over locomotive trains, I mean actually over them, he would get on a bridge where a train passes under and hang out from the bridge and masturbate as the train engine passed under him, another had a fetish for a safety pin, he just had to stare at it.

@LeopoldBloom Exactly, that is why I included the analogy of the box and what ever is in the box is what excites you in that way, for most people it is their idea of the perfect mate but for a few something else got in the box somehow.
