For those of you who live alone

Open so the cats can come and go as they please. If I close it, they wake me up wanting in or out.

When the day comes that I live alone, I'm positive my bedroom door will always be open. Just feels better to hear what's going on around the house. Unless I end up living somewhere where it makes more sense to be closed for heat.

I don't live alone but don't share my bedroom. The door is mostly open regardless of others.

I asked this question when I was scared about my mom dying. Well it happened 5 weeks ago. She went from fully functional and healthy to barely functional and me being her full time care taker and then passed.
Taking care of her and going in and out of hospitals sleeping in my truck I hadn't slept in my bed for at least the past 4 months.
I just stayed living downstairs and sleeping on the couch the past 5 weeks.
I finally slept in my bed the first time the night before last.
And of course I am now leaving my door open now.
Back when I posted this which was almost exactly a year before she died I felt like sleeping with my door open anyway, maybe a subconscious feeling of worry about her? As she declined I started leaving our bedroom doors open in case something happened and now it's weird not having to close any doors in the house for any reason other than to keep heat in at times.

My cat would throw a fit if that door is closed.

Closed. I suppose it’s a habit I never got rid off 15 years ago since I left the nest

I sleep in my livingroom, so open, I guess that would be.

Open because my dog is a jerk and raises hell if the door is closed

My room has basically a rigged curtain for a door and I close it.

Open. I like to be able to hear any noises.

When i lived alone I did leave the door open

Majority of the time closed, so I can be naked

Alwaysssss closed. My last place there was a small room connected to my bedroom and there was no door so I could never sleep. Even though the door was shut all the small room

I live with just my son, but I sleep with my door cracked open
