I Hate Poor Customer Service

Not usually one for public shaming. In some cases though, it is warranted.

Verizon removed a network interface device (box on outside of house) and shut off phone service at my father’s house - all without notice or permission to enter the property.

Called Sunday evening and got Tech Support. Was told to call Customer Service today (Monday) to make appointment to have copper wires switched to fiber optic lines and then service would be restored.

I asked how they can enter onto someone’s property and shut off service without notice. She just apologized for the “inconvenience” and again said to call Customer Service.

They are holding the phone service hostage (i.e., switch to fiber optic lines and then your service will be restored).

No way to treat any customer - let alone an elderly war veteran.

I’ve already filed complaints with various Federal and State agencies; as well as the Better Business Bureau and the consumer reporter at the NBC TV station in New York City.

I also posted on Facebook and Twitter. To their credit, they did respond relatively quickly. In each case, however, they said to call...Customer Service.

Just a note, that if your father experienced any sort of emergency and was without phone service, he would be unable to call 911. Verizon, in that case, would be subject to lawsuit for putting your father's life in jeopardy.
