I 60's Canings

Today, it was exactly 50 years since the cane was abolished in schools here in Denmark.
I got it once - five months before it was banned!
My three year older sister never got it!

I remember well, a boy at our boarding school who was from Gentofte , I think it is spelt. He told a teacher about the ban coming in Denmark, the teacher just told him to bend over and be happy it isn't banned here!

I had my share in the first 3 classes. Not canings but slapped fingers with the ruler and slaps on the cheeks. Up to my 6th grade we still had teachers forgetting about the ban.
