On Impeachment: What Now, Democrats? - The Day That Was | MSNBC

Trump admitted to talking to a foreign leader about investigating a potential election opponent. Does this now change the conversation around impeachment? What will Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats do now that the president has "crossed a Rubicon"? Meanwhile, silence from the Republican party continues. Aired on 09/23/19.

No.
It seems normal that the president would speak to foreign leaders.
And, with the business of Biden apparently bribing Ukraine to fire a prosecutor looking into his sons business dealings - asking some questions about that sounds reasonable too.

@Budwick it means that US foreign policy wonks knew the prosecutor had to go, for reasons that had nothing to do with Hunter Biden. Read some thing that is not right wing drivel for once.
The prosecutor, Shokin believe, was being pressured by Ukraine’s legislature for not bringing charges against the former OR current government. And was mucking up any chance of progress in reforming Ukraine’s f’d up judicial system.
The past tense refers to the fact pointed out by poliifact that there was no indication that the nvestigation into the energy company was current at the time.
And it WAS a ridiculous conflict of interest. Which are as bad for Democrats as Republicans,

For not being tough enough on corruption, right?
And what do you suppose he was looking at Hunter for?

Hunter is dirty on this.
Maybe his dad too - we'll see.

[big]Proof[/big] would be a great start . Seems their whistleblower never actually heard anything .
@TexChik Libs are too stupid to see Trump playing them. every time he tweets or has his people put out damming statements more and more jump on the impeachment wagon. it just strengthens his base and ensures they get out to support him and that they will get out and vote in 2020

Whats funny is the real scandal is what biden did...

@amk22 What did he do? SPECIFICALLY. What did he do?

I hope they go forward with impeachment hearings now just a year before the election, because that will prove that they know they have neither the candidate nor issues to win at the ballot box
firefall · 61-69, M
@GJOFJ3 or that they are convinced that the President has openly admitting to breaking the law. I know that's a hard concept for you, but try to think of him as if he were Obama and you might get it
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
@firefall I'm not sure what crime he committed, we ask foreign governments to spy for us, arrest people for us, and help with international investigations all the time. We do the same for them.
Joe Biden as VP insisted that Ukraine fire one of their prosecutors, and said we would withhold a billion in loan guarantees if they didn't. I don't think that was a crime either.

Impeachment still wont pass the Senate. I dont think Pelosi shifts on this, until at least a couple of Republican senators call for a bill of impeachment

ETA: I'm not saying I agree with her tactics, but I think she's pretty clear on them

I've totally understood why impeachment hasn't been pushed. But I don't there's a choice now. And that's because I think/hope/wish there will be a handful of Republicans who understand that the COUNTRY is more important than a con man and criminal.
