I Like Politics

America is becoming balkanized, assimilation is now becoming forgotten. This country no longer values the rule of law. It is all about importing a destitute class of people who know nothing about the US Constitution or freedom. As long as they can work like slaves and remain willfully ignorant, the powers that be will bring them here by the millions. It is pure treason.

The melting pot has become the salad bowl. It is illogical to think the cohesiveness of this natiion will remain intact. These are diabolical times we live in. The most corrupt men are trying to permanently destroy our middle class. We no longer live in a Constitutional Republic but rather a thugocracy where common sense and the rule of law is now slowly but surely becoming obsolete.

The "gift" of sixty years of liberal indoctrination within the public school system has created a drone society which lacks purpose and moral clarity. Not too mention its intellectual capacity which is equivalent to a peanut shell, group thought is now in vogue. Group thought which is destroying a country and western civilization. God help those who refuse to understand what tyranny really is and are content to exist within it.

Well, as a product of that public school system and a recent graduate of one of our most liberal northeast universities, I find this quite interesting.

What do you suggest as a next step? A new constitutional convention has been suggested by some. Are you in that camp? Or would you rather see a push to bring more constitutional questions to SCOTUS for review? Clearly we have a problem with our recent presidents (Clinton, Bush II, Obama, & Trump) exercising extra-constitutional powers unchecked.

You've pointed out part of the problem. What do you recommend as a solution? Because, you know, you are either part of the problem or you are part of the solution.

@sarabee1995 How about enforcement of the immigration law on the books to start, real border security with teeth. How about an end to gerrymandering ? How about term limits for all political offices, actually making political jobs just public service, what the founders intended it to be.

Maybe a return to paper ballots because computer voting is much too vulnerable to neafarious handling. How about some diversity of thought in the public school systems, not just liberal group think. Maybe actually have a course on the US Constitution as a requirement.

Bring back the draft and require one year of military service for all students. How about English as the official language for this nation. How about an education for the American society about the tyranny of the federal reserve? How about encouraging people to save money through the existence of real interest rates not fake ones?

Can all this be achieved by a society who worships convenience and is obsessed with immediate gratification? I doubt it. But then again miracles do happen on occasion.

Globalism sucks for America and freedom. We are becoming too comfortable in trusting a technocracy. Too comfortable in embracing a surveillance state, too nihilistic in the way we look at things. We are devolving into machine like drones who have no moral clarity or dreams. We have now become content to exist in a permanent state of illusion where tyranny is not only ignored but welcomed.

@therighttothink50 Some I agree with; some I don't. I hope you don't mind me dissecting your words a bit...

"...enforcement of the immigration law..."
No argument here. We have already reformed our immigration laws and granted amnesty and a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and provided penalties to employers for violating the rules. That law was signed by President Ronald Reagan and it is time we tried enforcing it. We will have a problem with immigration as long as we allow American corporations to provide economic incentives for people to violate our laws.

"...real border security..."
Qualified agreement here. If by "real border security" you mean building a wall, then I would strongly disagree with you. The wall is the stupidest idea ever uttered by a politician (and that's saying a lot). We have illegal immigrants coming into this country because WE are inviting them them to come here. Until we stop inviting them to come, they will not stop coming. Building a wall will shift the flow to the Gulf and create a new "boat people" crisis. If we stopped inviting them the problem would end overnight.

"...end to gerrymandering..."
Preaching to the choir here. I live in Massachusetts. I think we invented gerrymandering. Both parties do it and it is blatantly unconstitutional.

"...term limits for all political offices..."
Agreed.

"...return to paper ballots..."
Disagree. You clearly don't have faith in digital systems and I understand that. I (obviously) am far more comfortable with the digital world and partly this is generational. Digital ballots can be secured and traceable. It just takes investment. Paper ballots have issues too.

"...diversity of thought in the public school systems..."
I had both very liberal and somewhat conservative teachers in my high school social studies / history curriculum (I presume this is the area you are talking about -- doesn't much matter the political persuasion of a math teacher) and I am in the northeast. I don't think this is as big a problem as I hear from people.

"...US Constitution as a requirement..."
As a student of government myself, you will get no argument here. I believe the Declaration and our Constitution to be among the greatest political documents in western civilization.

"...Bring back the draft..."
I STRONGLY disagree on this one. While I will be entering service on October 1st, this was a choice I made. I'm fairly certain that even our military leaders are opposed to a draft at this point.

"...require one year of military service..."
See above.

"...English as the official language for this nation..."
I don't want to presume why YOU say this, but most people who say this are really expressing an anti-Spanish sentiment. This statement lacks understanding of the nature of America. We have NEVER been an English-only nation. What would you say to families in northern Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont who have roots back to the revolution and have worked the land for generations and NEVER SPOKE ENGLISH as their first language? What would you say to residents of Louisiana whose families date back to before the purchase and NEVER SPOKE ENGLISH? What would you say to the proud people of America's indigenous nations each with their own languages that predate English colonization of North America. What would you say to the American citizens of Puerto Rico? And what, pray tell, would you say to the proud people of the former Kingdom of Hawaii?? These are just a small sampling of the areas of America that are not now and never have been English language areas. I'm sorry you feel threatened by a bi-lingual or multi-lingual culture, but we have always been a multi-lingual nation.

"...tyranny of the federal reserve..."
I'm going to disagree on this one too, but maybe I don't understand what you mean. Please explain what "tyranny" is exercised by the Fed?

"...real interest rates not fake ones..."
Please explain.

"Globalism sucks for America and freedom."
Please explain.

"We are becoming too comfortable in trusting a technocracy."
Well, again, I am comfortable with technology and live a very digital life. Perhaps this is generational. What about technology and a technocracy to you not trust?

"Too comfortable in embracing a surveillance state,
Oh I so agree here. I am fully open to Google and it scares me sometimes how much they know about me. But, I do nothing to hide from them. It's a concern. (Yes, I know they aren't "the state," but the principle applies.)

"too nihilistic in the way we look at things.
Maybe this describes some people, but far from all and I would doubt a majority.

"We are devolving into machine like drones who have no moral clarity or dreams.
Again, maybe some, but not all.

"We have now become content to exist in a permanent state of illusion where tyranny is not only ignored but welcomed.
Depending on your definitions, I think we agree on this one. One of my big issues with recent American history is the blind eye that both Congress and SCOTUS turn to presidents exceeding their constitutional authority. Our checks and balances have been abandoned and each president pushes it further and further. We need to reel them in quick.

The difference between a nazi and a communist is that the nazi will come up to you in an alley with a knife and steal your money and maybe murder you. The communist is the white collar guy who will steal your pension and maybe murder you.

Heard that from Jordan Peterson the other day and he obviously says it better but I think it's a good point.
Jm31xxx · 41-45, M
@getmeouttahere that's not the difference at all

The melting pot never existing except in mythology and a couple of neighborhoods in New York City.
The powers that be have always wanted slaves working for them.
The only real issue is that the narrative you were raised on and adhere to is being challenged. But it was never true to begin with. Just ask Native Americans and African Americans about the cherished rule of law. And the group think that subjected them, and still does, to tyranny.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
@koos73 Are you talking about the same African Americans who enslaved white europeans during the barbary coast wars and the same American Indians who slaughtered their own people as well ? The only real issue is that you have been indoctrinated since birth to practice selective outrage and revisionist history.

America and its history is imperfect but still stands as the greatest society God ever created. A world without America and the US constitution is a world that you might very well soon get. Keep wishing for the end of western civilization, you just may get your wish soon. I hope you enjoy liberal fairytales because when practiced in the real world, you end up with places like Venezuela and South Africa, enjoy :) ...

I could not possibly agree more, sir.

I could not have said it better, sir!
