What you think?

"For those who are on the spiritual path being alone, keeping a distance from people, and becoming silent are not issues, these are opportunities"

Loneliness does not lead to holiness, sometimes going back is going forward, that's why I'm here. God help me though!

@Om2014 I know that all sounds ambiguous, when I read it again it sounded ambiguous...

I think the point is that aloneness and community are things we work with in different ways. Some us need more of one than another...

and some of us get more spiritual in company and community and some need more of solitude and distance.

Everything is an opportunity, being totally lost is an opportunity too.

I fear there is too much push AWAY from people in society, encouraged by lots of media and superficial pop thought...

I fear that loneliness is not a problem for people who didn't recognize it in themselves or are ashamed of it. They can easily make others lonely and not know it.

Also some people are not really here even though they are standing there. They can make you lonely while crowding you in! That can diminish spirituality while making you very desperate for a higher level of reality.

Just to round out my answer...

Also I know most people who say they pursue spirituality don't act like party-folks. Wavy Gravy used to be just like that though, and he is highly spiritual.

@Elevatorpitches i agree. Loneliness is opportunity and even community of spiritual people is desirable for many. Not every is ready for solitude . If you serve in community (karma yoga they call it) you get "clean" enough to digest loneliness and to make good use of it. otherwise negative depressing thoughts will cloud us in aloneness.
@Om2014 I like what you said there Om!
