I Love The Castlevania Series
Gawd, that animated Castlevania show on Netflix sucks. It is so frickin' boring! The first "season" was okay even though it was way too short. But since it was originally going to be a direct-to-video film, I let that slide and it was still entertaining enough to keep me watching for the second season. One of my hopes to see in season two was to have much more action and more adventure. You know, like the video games! But what do we get: the heroes spending half the season in a library, a ridiculous amount of screen time in Dracula's court and an overall pacing that is so freaking slow and once again, just a few scenes of the main characters fighting monsters and vampires.
Not to mention, they've killed Dracula already! And it wasn't even Trevor Belmont who killed him, but Alucard! Like wtf, isn't Dracula supposed to be the sworn enemy of the Belmont clan? Him and Trevor hardly had any interaction! How can they even continue with the show now that the main antagonist is already dead?! Sure it hinted that Carmilla and Dracula's human henchmen are going to be the next antagonists for season three but the whole Castlevania franchise revolves around killing Dracula. How can you have a show about Castlevania without anymore Dracula?! It doesn't make any sense!
The animation and voice acting are both great, what few fight scene there are were pretty cool but as a whole, the show is just boring. A huge disappointment that imo, really doesn't live up to the spirit of the video game it's based on.
