The Oxford vaccine

With news yesterday that ‘the Oxford vaccine’ is ready for the next phase of roll out, it appears we are closing in on a vaccine for CV. This will however be 90% effective, not 100% effective. It will take around 4 weeks for immunity to be in place after the first shot.

The worlds stock markets rocketed in response in the hope that fairly soon, a semblance of normality may return.

I’m wondering what people think of the potential vaccines - will you avoid them, will you be at the front of the queue, will you wait until other people have taken it to see whether it’s safe?

Sadly I’m too scared! It’s so weird because, the other half of me is tired, I’m over 50 and bored, so why not? Because I have a daughter and family that say they don’t want to lose me. I mostly would not want to disappoint them? Then I wonder if secretly it’s true, I don’t want to die. I’m not avoiding it for them. It’s because I love myself and I’m afraid of dying.

Yeah, so, well, you asked. I’ll be waiting.
