Is it safe to use earbuds during thunderstroms?

My elders always told me not to use earphones or earbuds during thunderstroms because you could hit by lighting.

I wonder is this true? 🤔

Will you be wearing a lightening rod on your head?
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@MarkPaul oh stop. Why'd I wanna do that?
BlueVeins · 22-25
@iamelijah I mean, it would be effective.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@BlueVeins Is this a challange? I'm looking for a rod now. Wait, I have umbrella.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@iamelijah Because you obviously don't want to take the advice of learning just a little bit of physics.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@MarkPaul Look, I am asking very politely. If you want to answer, just say it. If you just want to lecture me oh well go head.

Besides, I feel dumb asking you guys here thought you guys might "help".

I know someone's house got struck by lightning and which is why I am asking.

Many factors could contribute it. And the hazards still there even it safe as it sounds.

I ain't smart I admit it, that is why I am asking.

@MarkPaul a'ight this joke was funny at first but you took it a bit too far
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BlueVeins Well come on... her question...
BlueVeins · 22-25
@MarkPaul It was a legitimate question. 🤷‍♂️ Metal attracts lightning.

@BlueVeins Yeah, but I was just reinforcing she could and should educate herself rather than go through life in fear... and I did it in a fun and funny way to keep things light... I thought.
