He's been mad at me for a conversation that never happened. Should I be angry or confused?

Teacher: Fix your french, and you'll be fine.
Dad: So I hear they told you to do musical theater and take acting and dance classes.
Me: No, not what they said at all...

Almost a year later, and he still thinks that. I'm so confused.
