not sure what the 'job' is but in general I do smile because I enjoy what life and what I am doing. If doing it with someone who doesn't smile back, I don't think much about them at all other then to get it done and be around someone more pleasant to be with.

But again, it does depend on what may be required to do that job to some extent.
