Why do laptop makers all seem to put the cooling vents on the underneath?

@SW-User Yeah but there's the sides! Could suck air in one side and blow it out the other, or the back no?

@FairyGirlGemma it would require making an air tube taking the whole width of the laptop to pass it from one side to the other! 🤔 That can be an inefficient use of the volume inside the laptop unless the cross-sectional area of that tube is very little, but that wouldn't be efficient for cooling soo... 🤷‍♂️
