I Have a College Degree (am a College Graduate)

BSW and MSW in Social Work. I always worked in public service or for a non-profit agency. The pay was below what other people with Master degrees were making, but there were many other rewards.

Social work, interesting. I used to do social work to a degree but they called it other things, house parent, caseworker in various fields, chid protective, foster care and adoption. I know about the pay. All the degrees and very low money. Anyone doing social work usually does it because they start out least because they gave a heart for the human condition. So I will wish you peace on your journey and may that journey be all you want and hope it will be.

@Autumnlover I even worked in NYC as a subway train conductor and that was customer service, helping people, right on the front line
@SagePoet That must have been an interesting job. I imagine that you met a huge variety of people in that job!

I worked with ATR (Access to Recovery) because I had a "helping" degree and really enjoyed it.

@Autumnlover in the field but I have current hopes!
Good luck if you are looking for a teaching job. It's understandable that people need to take a break from teaching for a period of time.

@Autumnlover If I teach again it won't be in a conventional organization. I hope it is with high risk adults.
