What should a presidential debate sound like?

Note how well spoken, polite, and knowledgeable Kennedy and Nixon are. Especially Kennedy. Now compare this to Trump vs. Biden.

Properly done with a neutral moderator where no one is interrupting the other. Don't forget it was Biden and Wallace that were the first to interrupt and Wallace refused to call Biden on his fabrications and even joined in on perpetuating them. Let's call a spade a spade. The biggest problem is the moderator is biased.

@hippyjoe1955 The biggest problem is none of them give a damn about the American People, if they did they would have acted like gentlemen and let each other finish speaking before they interrupted each other. We didn't want to hear either man slander the other, both were guilty of it and the moderator lost control of the situation. He should have shut both their mic's off till they both agreed to act appropriately.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@spjennifer So what do you think the president should do to help the American people? Honest question.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@hippyjoe1955 Start by acting like an adult. Same goes for Biden, cut out all this partisan name calling bullshit and work together to make our lives better. I certainly don't have all the answers but we elect them to find some answers. Please don't try to justify Trumps behaviour, because you can't and neither can Biden's camp justify his.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@spjennifer So what about the FBI/CIA going after Trump during his run and tenure? Is that childish or just evil. So what answers do you expect them to come up with? What questions are being asked of them that needs an answer. From where I sit I see that Obama caused endless poverty and chronic unemployment. Trump has turned that around. Obama caused the US to bow before other world leaders. Trump has turned that around. Obama had a massive trade deficit with China. Trump has turned that around. What exactly do you think Trump needs to be doing?
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@hippyjoe1955 Lalalala, not listening, Trump Trump, Trump, rah rah rah, siss boom bah, move on, he's a cretin and so is Joe because if either of them truly wanted change, they could make it happen.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@spjennifer I am asking you what Trump should be doing while comparing Trump to what Obama did. Do you like Obama's policies better? If so how did you benefit from them.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 I would like to add these so-called Moderators these days doesn't even bother asking about the real issues but only their Narratives
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@hippyjoe1955 The problem isn't the men themselves, they are a reflection of the parties and people they represent. Obama did what he did, same as Trump has, same as Bush and Clinton before them. The problem is with the ideologies of both parties who don't give a shit about the American People, all they care about is pushing their respective partisan agendas on the population, good or bad. The Country is divided because of BOTH parties, neither of them are doing anything for the good of ALL Americans.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@FreestyleArt Yeah that is a major problem as well. I had to smile at the idiot who was moderating the Pence Harris 'debate'. She would ask a straight question of Harris then use an accusation to ask Pence a question. very bad form for any kind of debate. Both people get the same question and the same amount of time to respond.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@spjennifer So what do you think the political parties are supposed to do to help the American people? If I can answer my own question for myself I want the parties and the leaders and the legislators to get out of my life and let me live it as I see fit. That includes creating an atmosphere where my opportunities are the same as everyone else's opportunities and kept as wide open as possible insofar as my life is not harming someone else's life.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@hippyjoe1955 For once I agree with you, same questions, same time, nothing different for either, treat them both the same, you've got 2 minutes to respond, then shut up and let the other one answer or your mic is cut off. Then 1 minute each for rebuttal.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@hippyjoe1955 I don't disagree but part of the problem is the iniquities between the rich and the poor, the divide is too wide and that creates problems. Don't expect the poor to do your dirty work just because you can afford it and then tell them to like it too. There has to be a better way. So based on your comments you don't want any Government, no roads, no bridges, no hospitals, or schools, no controls over pollution, or crime? Because that's what our taxes go to pay for or they should be. You can't have it both ways, it's just not possible. The top 1% of the wealthy hold 95% of the wealth and they sure as shit don't want to share it with the rest of us...
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@spjennifer The fact is that rich and poor is a false flag. There is no way to 'fix' it and every time we try to we just make it worse. The best way to help the poor is to give them opportunity to become rich. The funny thing is that the rich poor gap grew under Obama and has shrunk under Trump. Here in Canada we observe the same thing. So called conservative governments have a much better success rate at shrinking the rich poor gap than do the socialist governments. That is provable with quick study of statistics.

@spjennifer You may or may not know that I run a small non profit that is aimed at helping the homeless get back on their feet and get their addictions under control. I have had a bit of success with some of the people I have worked with. However we have a socialist government in Canada at the moment and try as I might I just can't find work for my people. There are a couple of large homeless camps because people can't find work and have lost their housing. The shelters are overflowing so we have set up tents for them to live in. Not sure how that is going to work come winter time when it is 40 below. However our Obama like PM doesn't seem to care. He has to stop CO2 from killing us all.
