I'm glad you have been able to move on and still wish the best for your friend. Personally, I struggle with the moving on part and I admit I harbor a lot of anger from past relationships. I want thing to get better but I still haven't learned to let go. I'm trying though.
I recently lost a friend too, but for me, the happy memories are unforgettable in a negative way... the best word to describe them would be haunting I guess, because I can't live them anymore. Moving on is indeed a great accomplishment, so good for you.
