Don't be ashamed of that, the fact you may have to or have shared it is a big step and you have done a wonderful thing to do so , as much as you think it is something that's shameful, don't ever let it be said your not fighting it.
Granted it is a terrible thing but people will admire you for your honesty and it helps take that stigma away, in time things for you will start to get better when people know how strong you are by not hiding or letting your mental instability beat you , best wishes and good luck.
