I Have Fibromyalgia

They say there is no cure for fibromyalgia. It’s almost an invisible disease and unless you have it, it’s hard to explain what you go through on a day to day basis. I hate looking so normal but hurting everywhere. I feel guilty that I can’t engage with my kids more actively, and I hope they don’t think That I just don’t like playing with them. That’s the farthest from the truth. I’m just in pain... everywhere.

@Foxgirl I wish you get it and then say that.

@Foxgirl wow - nice one. Unfortunately for you it does. Can come is a few shapes and forms and often associated with stress and inability for the body/brain functions to cope with or switch off after "fight or flight" or an extreme psychological shock to the system - so there is a build up of muscles feeling like they are overworked, brain fog, headaches/migraines, pain in connective tissue, lack of concentration, memory loss, stinging or tingling around fingers and soles of feet etc etc...all in varying degrees

what are the symptoms of this disease

This explains somewhat fibromyalgia sufferers go through on a day to day, but there’s so much more...

Symptoms of fibromyalgia include:

Widespread pain. The pain associated with fibromyalgia often is described as a constant dull ache that has lasted for at least three months. To be considered widespread, the pain must occur on both sides of your body and above and below your waist.

Fatigue. People with fibromyalgia often awaken tired, even though they report sleeping for long periods of time. Sleep is often disrupted by pain, and many patients with fibromyalgia have other sleep disorders, such as restless legs syndrome and sleep apnea.

Cognitive difficulties. A symptom commonly referred to as "fibro fog" impairs the ability to focus, pay attention and concentrate on mental tasks.@SW-User
