Cleaning my apartment paid off!

My new landlord, with 2 days notice tricked tenants into letting their apartments be inspected. I spent the whole time cleaning everything from the oven to the blinds. When the inspection team came in they videoed absolutely everything- including the inside of cupboards and drawers. Three apartments are being evicted for uncleanliness in this scourge, but I scored 10/10. Anyway, the other two bedroom like mine is now listed $700 higher than what I'm paying. The prices have really skyrocketed around here. Whew!

I wonder if it has anything to do with COVID. Maybe they were behind on their rent but couldn’t be forced to leave. And the increase is drastic. Maybe they just wanted to increase the rent. That’s why I hate renting. It’s hard to find good people to rent from.

@Spoiledbrat It's a money grab. The old landlord wasn't as greedy. He's just too old to carry on and had to sell.

$700 is a lot of money.. ouch.
Maybe they didn't get you this time, but you can be sure they have you on their radar as one apartment they couldn't increase the rent for, so now they will be looking for any excuse.
