I Hate Art

I think I'm adopted, my parents and the rest of my siblings will pay through the roof for expensive paintings. They marvel on family trips, musing around art galleries and wow in astonishment at every painting. They pay for farcical excursions to gaze at buildings, take pictures of statues and anything that resembles ancient.

I look at a painting, it's either tree or a house. I can go on google image, download a picture, print it and put a frame on it. I don't know the fascination with the Mona Lisa or any of those expensive paintings, they all look the same to me.

Family trips would always end with an evening of watching a play or musical, the most mundane waste of precious time. I prefer to huddle up in a corner and read a good book. I'm often told I have no taste but frivolous materials does nothing but create excessive spending.

I like art but I can relate.

I like drawing and looking at art on the internet (like, with a story behind it, concept art etc), listening to music while I do stuff etc, but spending a lot of money just to have something in your house that takes up space,creates clutter, collects dust and can easily be lost/destroyed/stolen. Never made a lot of sense to me.
@Fishy
I'm very simple and live a simple life and very different from my family. I don't see the logic in paying staggering amount of money for anything that hang on a wall to collect dust.

Honestly, I think that's a better way to be.
I think to myself: sure, I can work extra hard, buy all this expensive stuff, pay more for a bigger house to keep it in, but then what if the house burns down the next day and everything is lost? XD

Like, less stuff less stress.

However, if I am gonna buy art it will probably be as a cheap print or on a mug or something 😂
