I Have An Eating Disorder

My doctor just diagnosed me with ARFID. Any one else on here also have that? I haven't heard of it before.

My friend's niece has this. She rarely eats and has been in and out of eating disorder clinics for awhile. I hope you are able to overcome it.

I've never heard of it, but there's tons I've never heard of. I could google it, but can you describe what it is?

Me neither
What is it mean?
@Montanaman No, fortunately I avoided the big two eating disorders.

@Lyss23 okay. I'm glad that it's been diagnosed. This will take time to win this battle, but I know that you can do it.👍👍🤗🤗💕💕

@Lyss23 I think the difference behind afrid and anorexia is that when you look in the mirror you aren't trying to look thinner; your reason for not being able to eat is that you find most foods icky. My friend's niece has problem with the texture of most foods and she eats those koolaid type popsicles mostly. She has had a feeding tube for awhile now because of the disease. It is a very serious thing so now that you have your diagnosis I hope they are able to find a treatment program for you.
I don't. Do you have a diagnosed psychiatric disorder too?
@PoetryNEmotion You mean something outside of it? My doctor did diagnose me with major depression disorder and GAD
@Lyss23 People with psychiatric disorders are more prone to this eating disorder. I think many people focus on labels instead of getting treatment. I hope you are successful. Good luck.
@PoetryNEmotion Thank you!
Has this resulted in nutritional deficiencies for you?
Are you okay?
@PhoenixPhail Yeah, I definitely have some nutritional deficiencies, but we are learning how to work around them as best as I am able to.

Yes.
It’s caused by some kind of trauma.
