I Go to a Boarding School

Yesterday I helped to entertain some prospective parents who were looking round our school. I am very happy to do this as my school scholarship pays for everything - my education, my food, my board, even the clothes I wear - so we need to get more fee paying people through the doors so less wealthy bears like me can continue to attend 馃惢

First I took part in a gymnastics display. Then I took part in a debate in French, but I did not have time to change so I was still wearing my lovely purple leotard with a cardigan thrown over the top 馃檮

Afterwards I spoke to some of the parents who were surprised to learn I was one of the senior girls as they had assumed I must be about 12 years old 馃槨

Showing new parents round is fun and they always seem to like the music department. But when we do tours we have to show them the bits we're told to and not places like the bins outside the kitchen where some of the sixth form go to smoke!

@SarahX 馃槃馃槀 These tours do not offer a realistic view of school life! Of course the parents want to see where we live and sleep outside of lessons, so the teachers chucked out all the girls from one of the dorms and made it ridiculously neat and tidy for them to see. A more realistic scene was going on in our house where 15 little girls were running riot, bouncing on their beds, and running illegal hamster races 馃ぃ

Oh no @TammieBear, do you mean they aren't all neat and tidy all the time hahahaha :D

@SarahX They're not very tidy and nor should they have to be. We have only a small space to call our own and I think you should be able to do what you want in it, not keep it like a museum in case any parents want to look in 馃槍

Why was u in a leotard
TammieBear22-25, F
@smileylovesgaming No, we put it on specially for them. It's the type of thing that parents like to see . . . I guess watching someone doing mental arithmetic is not so entertaining 馃檮

@TammieBear I just never really thought about it before.

@smileylovesgaming Chemistry's another popular one. The teacher was demonstrating the science behind fireworks and also making his own ice cream 馃檪
