The Menu for June, July and August

The following is what will keep me busy for 3 whole months. I could reasonably go a whole year without anymore orders, but i'll get to that later.

June, July, and August is the duration of this spiritual period of time where i let the good things i've amassed both recently and in general to soak in, to watch each multiple times, and with all the supplemental material.

This is not an ascetic time defined by lack of spending, this is a celebratory time for all that was paid for.

CRITERION (mostly lavish sets, cheapest amongst them were about $70)
1. Ingmar Bergman's Cinema - close to 40 films and lots of supplements, the best set evahh
1.2 - The Jan Troell double feature - The New Land and The Emigrants which is a must see for all Bergman fanatics.
2. The Complete Films of Agnés Varda - up there with the above and extra points for it's completeness, to have more and more sets containing the complete films of their respective directors is or should be a top priority for both distributors and collectors alike.
3. Essential Fellini - with tons of supplements
4. World of Wong Kar Wai - they saved most of the supplements for the last film disc
5. Dekalog
6. The Apu Trilogy
7. The Koker Trilogy
8. The Road Trilogy
8.2 - The World Cinema Project volumes
9. Paris, Texas
9.2 - Celine and Julie Go Boating
9.3 - Manila in the Claws of Light
Sets and director collections
10. Shinya Tsukamoto
11. Hirokazu Kore-eda
12. Takeshi Kitano
13. Shohei Imamura
14. Takashi Miike
14.2 - Nuri Bilge Ceylan
14.3 - Hou Hsiao-hsien
14.4 - Joaquim de Andrade
15. Close to 100 horror/thriller/slasher/80's Blu-rays
16. About 20 other arthouse Blu-rays that had come in dual formats, like the Arrow set that has Eros+Massacre
17. The 2nd official go through of Breaking Bad
17.2 - around 50 other series on DVD, and my only show on Blu-ray, the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
18. Roughly 2,000 films on DVD to enjoy like new on a good tv that is the only screen i'll use for watching things except streaming
19. STREAMING - oh yeah, i had previously said i'd wanna watch 365 streamed movies each 3 months, that is just pompous gibberish, i'll be doing nicely and getting my money's worth if i average a movie per day in the long run.

This should be clear that there is more than 3 months worth of stuff to enjoy and memorialize, but as was promised in the opening statement, why i need to keep ordering on a less but more pronounced basis is that it is just what i do, there is always stuff that needs to be gotten, ALWAYS. Many films need to be restored and released, neglected countries need their film culture preserved and shared with the cinephiles across the world. Not in this generation, not even in the next generation, but in the generation after the next will be the time if optimism is to be had for this issue, only then will a satisfactory publically ownable trajectory of the treasures of all films be available. Maybe someone reading this loves film in the same way. I say unto you, that never before has it looked this good, but there is much more ground to cover. Show your support if possible for the films you care about. :)
