Entertainment dualized

Started a gem of a Taiwanese film on Netflix - A Sun (2019), 2 and a half hours, will definitely be getting back to it during the day, but as the overnight time nears, i must get ready to enjoy da Blu-rays.

The duality of film consumption, my dear cyber family, and the slow evolution of this here film consumer in specific.

So far, streaming means seeing it on a tablet screen. Streaming also means less quality, people who know more about these things use words such as bitrate, but i'm not one of those people.

Blu-rays for me is the current thing where 4K is the thing, i'm always behind the times. I know now how to have a special experience with a film on Blu-ray

1) It has to be between 10pm and 5am
2) The recliner i sit on while watching is to be as close to the tv as possible, as the tv set up here is that it is up high, thus when reclined close infront of it, it is as if i am under it, which gives it a more theatrical feel
3) ideally it should be a quiet foreign film so as to not be too loud while those in close proximity aren't bothered by any noise pollution. However last night i proved to myself that an English language film can work if it's a dialogue driven drama with twangy guitar playing for the soundtrack.

Going back to streaming, when i stream a movie i sense a vastness, there's thousands at my fingertips, the most liked review of A Sun on Letterboxd says how it is these days, there has never been so many films that can be accessed, and at the same time it is the hardest time to find something great in this teeming sea of accessibility. I find this strangely exhilerating, i wanna see how much i can watch ....

..... but ....

... each film ultimately must mean something, so my zeal wants it, thus tea'ed Tea n'Tea
