I Hate People Who Do Harm To Childen

Very emotionally draining afternoon. My line of work involves contributing to the decision making of Children being taken away from parents. 😞

This family ..both parents on drug and substance abuse and alcohol abuse plus domestic violence. 3 children and mother expecting forth. Both parents irrespoonbile but do love the kids.

My voice was shaky as I said 'yes' to children being taken away 😞. My heart is breaking 😢

Glad you consider state custody is not always best. In 1971 I was sent to a Guardians home. It was horrific.

@Pfuzylogic this is my worry.😞. These parents been on every support programme. They still cannot even provide basic care.

@TechniCoIorBroccoli I have left out a lot of details on my experience. The older kids get very exploitive of those who can not defend themselves.

@Pfuzylogic there's an 80 year old gran who supports them here and there. No other family wants to be part of their mess.
My heart is breaking because o saw there was 'love' but extreme neglect and emotional abuse.

@TechniCoIorBroccoli Emotional abuse is hard to define. I experienced neglect and other things worse. I changed custody to my Mother but Indiana was pathetic in accountability of their own institutions.

@Pfuzylogic it's not just alcohol. Cocaine canabis all in front of children plus countless incidents of domestic violence and neglect -leaving children alone at home. Fire , 12 year old refusing to go back home etc etc etc.

@TechniCoIorBroccoli I am sure there were extensive documented events to compel the decision. Back in the day it was like pulling teeth to protect children in dangerous situations and they still didn't do it right.

@Pfuzylogic plus total refusal to cooperate with any support program. Physically assaulting the social worker , not turning up for detox programs. Missing children's immunisations.

@Pfuzylogic yes of course it was 6 agencies and their reports after 5 years of support plus 12 years of involvement with the family

@TechniCoIorBroccoli The only way we wee taken away was when his wife confessed she didn't want to maintain custody. Things have changed so much.
