I Hate People Who Do Harm To Childen

Very emotionally draining afternoon. My line of work involves contributing to the decision making of Children being taken away from parents. 😞

This family ..both parents on drug and substance abuse and alcohol abuse plus domestic violence. 3 children and mother expecting forth. Both parents irrespoonbile but do love the kids.

My voice was shaky as I said 'yes' to children being taken away 😞. My heart is breaking 😢

Glad you consider state custody is not always best. In 1971 I was sent to a Guardians home. It was horrific.

@TechniCoIorBroccoli Back then they didn't have the boundary that if there was serious bruising that it was abuse.

@TechniCoIorBroccoli The only way we wee taken away was when his wife confessed she didn't want to maintain custody. Things have changed so much.

I don't envy you but those families are lucky to have someone as thoughtful and caring as you looking after the wellbeing of their kids.

@summersong thank u I'm self hating myself with all the what's and ifs. What if they get abused in care ? Wouldn't that be higher abuse than being with theit parents. I just know that I acted in their best interest in the current circumstances.

Oh my goodness I could never do that job, you are a very strong person to have to do this. And as I am sure you know, in the end this is best, hopefully this can send a message to the parents, at least one of them, to clean up.

@Lackwittyname yes I am looking 🤞. No there's a lot of hard hearted people out there who feel high and mighty making decisions of other lives. I feel totally distraught after these meetings and it's not for me !

Kids that do not have a "fair shot" at life because of effed up parents kills me. 😡

Unfortunately, it is more common than not. Society is failing.

@SW-User and it angers me that they are having a 4th child. Something should be done. These parents should not ve allowed to have kids after kids

@clamenza the youngest baby was clinging to the mum all through the meeting. The unborn baby will have withdrawl symptoms of drug addiction ... what a mess

You have to do what you think is best for the kids. Maybe this is the shakeup the parents need to get their act together.
What choice do you have but to believe in the system.
