I Am a Pilot

Passed my Private Pilot Checkride Tuesday, the 20th. The hardest part was the weather, really. Low level wind shear made soft field-landings....not so soft.

@Spokeskitties75 Yup. I started that the next day. Did a few RNAV approaches in the area. Just waiting for weather to improve.

@Booyeah glad to see you are getting that too... I think it鈥檚 important to have! Weather is the queen bee

@Spokeskitties75 I'm in a program that goes all the way to CFII. So, fingers crossed.

And yeah, weather is touchy. Had to do those RNAVs while still fighting LLWS.

@Booyeah wait till you do full cat 3 ILS precision approachs with that fun LLWS with a hood on... that will pucker the sphincter muscle a bit!!! Haha

@Spokeskitties75 Haha, well my anxiety really derives from performing these maneuvers in an aircraft of less than 3000lbs when I spent 15 years as a crewchief in Army helicopters of 20000lbs. I'm just waiting for the wings to snap off every time.

@Booyeah Yeah... I never had a desire to fly helicopters... something about autorotate if the rubber band snaps doesn鈥檛 appeal to me.... give me a 20000 lbs glider. I flew light business jets for years

@Spokeskitties75 I can't even logically justify how I feel safer in a helicopter knowing how much more complex it is.

"I feel more comfortable dying in this brick than dying in a dart."

@Booyeah haha
