I Do Not Understand Homophobics

I was born around a homophobic culture. Even my fiance is homophobic. I am the only one who don't hate homosexuals. And that gives me another fearful thought. What if my future child turns out to be homosexual? I am sure my family won't accept him/her and try to hurt my child in any way possible. I don't know how I can protect my child from them. I wish my child won't be a homosexual for his/her sake.

@AgapeLove he's Syrian Jacobite, it's only found in India. I think both culture and religion plays a role in the view of homosexuality.

Homophobia isn't actually a hatred of homosexuals. That's just bigotry. Homophobia is actually the fear of being considered gay or being associated with gay people
@JBird Anyway actual help... The odds of your child being gay are about 10%. That reduces if you grow up in a more homophobic society usually. Nurture actually plays a big part for these things so making sure your son/daughter spends time with the opposite sex is a must. Also try to avoid traumatising them as that can increase the odds of them being gay or trans. If you're really concerned you could avoid soy as it's tied to estrogen production.

@Qwerty14 lol. I don't think that's always true. You can't tell from where they can come.
@JBird There's decades of research that backs up these claims. Except soy... That's still being looked into.

Just know the concept of being "born this way" is a ridiculous notion that might be a hit for Lady Gaga but scientifically doesn't hold up. Sure nature plays a part but nurture is just as important. You play a big role in your child's development.

You just don’t have control over how things would turn out. No matter what your child turns out to be, if you ensure your love and support for them, they would do good. Again, you may never know what’s going to happen by the time they grow up. The views of poeople around you may not matter as much. Look much much things have changed in past 20 years or so.

I guess the best thing you could actually do is encourage them to engage in a martial arts from a relatively young age.
Give the family the finger I guess, fuck em.

Let’s begin by pointing out the misnomer. “Phobics” implies a fear of something or someone. I don’t know anyone who is afraid of homosexuality. I know many people, myself included, who couldn’t give less of a shit about homosexuals and that refusal to act like being attracted to one’s own gender is labeled as homophobia when actually it’s just being unimpressed.

I worked with several homosexuals in my life, only one could speak for more than 10 minutes without making a reference to being gay.

I understand “homophobics”.
I think that our culture makes you choose a side on 100% acceptance of homosexuals and if you don’t you get labeled.
Pfuzylogic · M
@JBird Culture would be the environment that men and women live in. Were you thinking of something different?
JBird · F
@Pfuzylogic nope. Some culture don't accept homosexuals at all.
Pfuzylogic · M
@JBird Some cultures can be very black and white and judge other people that don’t accept them 100% , hence the term homophobic. Many people are labeled homophobic that are slandered by the term.

This lines defeats the purpose of the post.

@JBird I can try to understand. But still is difficult for me to ignore the contradiction. I hope you do not have to make that choice of not allowing them their freedom.
JBird · F
@ISeeYou I want to give them freedom but being born in a homophobic culture, I think it's like walking in a minefield. Another solution is to send them to another country so they can live without being monitored.

At least it gives you an excuse to virtue signal and talk shit about your fiance.
JBird · F
@Sicarium that's not nice

@JBird Truth often isn't.
