It was my first ever surgery 馃憤

[big]Wisdom Teeth[/big]

I noticed that my wisdom teeth were beginning to grow at the end of my high school year of 2016. I didn't pay much attention. But around 2019, I've had some sharp pain in my gums and turns out that my wisdom teeth were emerging. My mom made an appointment to help me get my wisdom teeth out from both jaws. The bottom wasn't much painful, but the upper jaw? Well...it was painful as shit. Of course, I've done some x-ray scans of my teeth and saw my wisdom teeth emerging, but there was a problem. Or should I say 2: first off, they were a bit crooked and could cause a cavity on my other molars. The other problem was that my bottom wisdom teeth were not growing out much like my top jaw and that the bottom teeth were connected through my nerves. The surgeon told me and my mom that if they were to pull my bottom teeth out, my nerves could be damaged and I wouldn't be feeling my lower jaw very little to none. Soon, I went back for my actual surgery. And throughout my whole surgery, I was wide awake. I had anaesthetics to numb my gums. Because of how my bottom teeth were sorta fused with the nerves, and they would eventually grow through, the surgeons trimmed the crowns of my teeth and avoided the nerves. Why? Just like what I said, to avoid numbness, but it also allow my teeth to grow through the nerves and it'll then be another surgery. Speaking of, after that procedure, the anesthetic were wearing off and my mouth was in deep shit pain. I had to eat soft foods for a few days. My mouth healed for at least 5 days. I feel much better. Sore, but better

Dang that sucks. I got my wisdom teeth taken out for no reason other than I was "supposed" to. I felt them coming in when I was probably a sophomore in hs. They didn't hurt or bother me at all. I got them removed and when they pulled them out they said "wow these are totally normal teeth! We probably could have left these in" and I was like wow thanks for telling me that now. My dad never got his taken out and is just fine.

I went through weeks of pain only being able to eat soft foods like pasta one noodle at a time for nothing. Wisdom tooth surgery should be de-normalized and only done for people who had complications from them like you.

@Hush92 You went through this pain for nothing? That's a little petty, I don't get why they had to be removed, then. I bet you do got perfect teeth, though.

And thanks 鈾ワ笍

@xSiFiGamer2016x Idk either, my parents told me it was normal to get them removed and I told my dentist they were coming in and they said yeah let's remove them. They said it was "possible they could cause some crowding"

Definitely not worth it at all. They just wanted to make money off the procedure.

@Hush92 Now, that's just greedy... Have they checked your teeth thoroughly?

I never trust dentists. I always get a second opinion.

@Spoiledbrat I wouldn't blame on you finding the right dentist.
