I Have Random Thoughts
A tale of two thoughts
Uncertainty, why is my life upturned?
Why must I stay home?
Why does this virus exist?
Why can’t someone fix this?
Uncertainty, what will happen to a sick friend?
Why must people die?
Why can’t everyone cooperate?
Why can’t things be normal?
Oh God, why do you dare to do nothing.
Uncertainty, how is that sunrise so beautiful?
Why am I blessed with extra time to enjoy?
Why did I not notice how much neighbors care?
Why is a divided world, suddenly united?
Uncertainty, why is there hope for the vulnerable?
Why do so many fight and recover?
Why are so many volunteering to stay apart?
Why is every breath so valuable?
Oh God, thanks for being in the details. I now have a little extra time to notice. I am grateful for life, creation and community. Thank you for the technology that enables us to do physical distancing and still be able to connect socially.
Today I am grateful.
