I Am On A Healthy Weight Loss Journey

I've realized that I can't do this alone. I am seriously depressed and overweight and I need help. I'm looking for some friends to keep me motivated. Every now and then I'll lose a few pounds and then jump right back up again. I have some sort of mental block and I'm really not sure how to overcome it. I'm Female, 5' 2" and nearly 300lbs. Something needs to change and I'm really hoping community support will help me make it happen.

Personal motivation helped me and depression was kept at bay with it. Try to locate someone who can get you going to change your life. It doesn't need to be a trainer just someone who can give courage to succeed. My motivation came in college with a friend who personally inspired me. He didn't train me, but gave hope to succeed and it worked. I lost the weight I did and maintain it to this very day. I started exercising and changed the diet with pounds slowly but surely coming off. It won't happen immediately, but if you can stick to it, things will begin to change for your personal health and well-being.

@Mert5356 Thank you. That is wonderful and very inspiring. I am quite overweight and in order to remain mobile and independent I desperately need to lose weight. I am on Nutrisystem because it works best with my limited lifestyle. I live in a rooming house, and I share the kitchen with 5 people, so it helps to have most of my meals packaged and ready in minutes in a microwave. I need to lose about 80 lbs. but even half of that would contribute greatly to my mobility and general health. I live with a swimming pool next to my room but it is not a heated pool so it's only good in summer. In the fall, I'm planning to join a gym.

My most difficult problem is socializing, parties, holidays, etc.

I lost 50 pounds and they are never coming back. I vowed to never have soda or anything from McDonald's, Burger King, and all other places similar. I started out small exercising and gradually moving faster. If you can lose weight, keep it off 2 years, the likelihood it stays is quite high. It can sound impossible, but can be achieved.

Look into PS1000. It has a great Facebook support group and it is a lifestyle change about eating.
