I Had My Mouth Washed Out With Soap

I hate this a lot and I don't really get it. Besides being disgusting and humiliating it's also dangerous if one accidentally swallows the soap. I just don't see the point of a punishment that puts a person's health to risk, surely there must be better ways to correct.

Eating the soap isn't dangerous. Yes, you can choke with solid soap but, if it's a big one, it's really impossibile and you can always get your mouth washed with liquid soap

@SW-User I only experienced it once and it was enough, but apparently it's a traditional way of punishing cussing/talking back, been used for many a long year.
