It is hard to know where to start. Idiots have become a majority in our population!

Sea salt instead of regular ... its the EXACT SAME THING except that sea salt lacks the essential trace nutrients you get from iodized salt. It tastes the same but is less good for you.

Then there is "gluten free" and "no MSG". Fact is that almost nobody need worry about a gluten free diet. It makes no difference at all to anybody who does not suffer from celiac disease and almost nobody does. And the whole monosodium glutamate thing? All fresh fruits and vegetables are loaded with it: it is a naturally occurring substance. So unless you are a strict carnivore, get used to it. You eat it all the time.

And don't even get me started on bottled water.

And folks, this is just the tip of the iceberg in a very narrow category related to diet. Economics is a much sadder tale. How did society get so stupid? It drives me to the brink of despair.

I'm married to a woman with coeliac disease. One of the biggest problems is trying to find gluten free foods. Luckily, with people going gluten free to be trendy, it's making manufacturers produce more gluten free products. So, it might be unnecessary, but it's certainly made life a bit easier for those with coeliac disease.
