You got me thinking about your question. Does it not sound logical that if he hated you he would not care about you. I think by being strict he's showing you he loves you and is willing to Invest his time protecting you.

When you say strict, do you mean he's unreasonable?

I don't have a dad

so strict is love? I'm confused

My dad is very strict especially to my older sister and I and I wondering the same thing but my dad said he’s like that because he loves me and he doesn’t want guys to hurt me or use me. Dads are weird.
