I Have Triggers

Today on multiple occasions I noticed a certain (factual) trigger that the vast majority of people seem to have. When you tell people that the calories they eat are the single determining factor in how much they weigh, they seem to lose their minds.

They'll throw up all kinds of excuses like age, health conditions, medications, etc, but those arguments fall apart because while they do affect the amount of calories that a person burns, they don't affect the fact that eating at a deficit of that rate will make them lose weight and eating at a surplus will make them gain weight.

Sure, water weight may fluctuate, but it will never deviate by more than a few pounds unless you intentionally dehydrate yourself like an athlete getting ready for a weigh-in, so it can be ignored.

I guess some people are just highly averse to being told that the condition of their bodies is entirely their hands. Do what you will with the knowledge of this powerful trigger.

I ran over 100 miles the last two weeks and I didn't lose a pound. Yes, weight loss comes down to calorie intake and metabolism. Eating ice cream, cake, bread and soda are the absolute worse things you can consume if you are trying to lose weight.

You inspire my friend. :-)
Isn't soda almost pure sugar? Yikes. Never drink the stuff.

👍 It's pretty simple. I think it's hard for many to except responsibility, because it takes discipline.
